Log: Swim Pacific

[DAY 131] Stars

I always wake up in the middle of the night and usually more than one time. Last night when I woke up around 2 a.m. I decided to go on deck and what a display I saw. The entire sky was lit up with stars, they looked so close and bright. I remembered that our friend Kazu asked for a picture of the sky at night but unfortunately being on a rocking boat this is not possible. In order to capture the starts we need a long exposure and we are never stable enough to do that… Sorry, Kazu!

Today we had a little more wind and waves, they were coming from the south.

The water temperature was different too, it was constant, an average of yesterday’s highs and lows. The waves mixed the water and I couldn’t feel the warm and cold zones anymore.

I didn’t see any fish swimming below me either and Maks and Brian, on the dinghy didn’t see any fish jumping out off the water. It seemed like more was happening at the surface when the sea was calm.

  1. I google searched to find who sailed across the Pacific Ocean first, and instead was led to this. This seems like it should be getting more publicity!

  2. Ever since i started following your epic challenges ive been saving all my single use plastic that food comes in. Im now packing my kids lunches in these reusable and perfectly good plastics. I cant believe how much we use daily its quite astonishing. Im conscious now and only buy it if ill repurpose it. Thank you for bringing awareness.

  3. It’s hard to imagine what you all are going through each day living at sea. I look forward to each daily post and Seekers videos . Congrats to all stakeholders in this expedition !
