Expedition Overview
In December 2018, Ben became the first person to attempt to swim the Pacific Ocean, from Japan to San Francisco, California to raise awareness about the oceans health. Ben successfully swam 1,500 NM. Unfortunately, after 165 days at sea, Ben and his team were forced to call off ‘The Swim’ due to 7 irreparable damage to the mainsail. He and his team worked with multiple marine research centers and collect for them samples and data as well as with NASAP to study the effects of prolonged exposure to the human body.
